Getting working code is the easy part now. The part that decides your grade is whether you can look at that code and say what every line does and why it is there. We practice that directly, on your own assignments.
You bring code AI gave you and explain it out loud. Wherever you stall is the real lesson, and it is usually one missing concept rather than the whole language.
Before you run anything, you say what it will print and why. Guessing right by accident and actually knowing look identical until you do this.
Rename things, swap the loop, introduce a bug on purpose, then repair it. Code you can modify is code you understand. Code you can only paste is code you borrowed.
Same problem, nothing open. This is the closest thing to your closed book exam, and it is much cheaper to struggle here than there.
You keep using AI the whole time. The goal is independence from it, not avoidance of it.
